The best part about this is that these vehicles can be used in any mode, not just Sport. During the period of the contract, the manufacturer will loan you two racing-caliber vehicles, generally both a Gr 4 and Gr 3 car. If you're just starting out with Gran Turismo Sport, you may not have the Credits to purchase racing vehicles, but you're not out of luck! If you head to Brand Central, you can sign a driver contract with any manufacturer.Ĭontracts cost nothing (including any in-game Currencies), but are irrevocable until the real-world time expiration. Be sure to carefully look at the screen before signing up for a race. After selecting to start a race, you'll be given your choice of which specific hour you want to run the race, but they take place on specific calendar days. There are always two seasons going on, and you can enter both. You can join a season for more of a long-term commitment to racing. You can enter as many daily races of any of the three that you wish, and each one will award Currencies and will alter your Driver and Sportsmanship ratings. When racing, all penalties are on, so drive hard! It's entirely possible to gain a few spots in the standings after the race due to penalties incurred on other drivers.Īfter the race is over, you'll be taken back to the main Sport screen. You can choose not to drive to qualify for a race, but you'll be starting at the back of the grid. If you choose to drive while waiting to be matched up, not only can you practice what you're in for, but you'll be actively qualifying for your starting position on the grid. After you sign up for entry, you'll be taken to the track in question with your chosen vehicle. Three daily races are held in Sport Mode.

These ratings are irrelevant to all single-player modes however, and you can race as dirty as you want against the AI.

In Lobby mode, racing hosts can restrict their rooms to any level of either rating, and you may be restricted in other races. Sportsmanship rating starts at B and measures whether your car collides with others, or you do dangerous driving techniques such as weaving to cut off others.īoth ratings are shown in the very top-right corner of the main menu directly to the right of your driver level. Note that you don't need to win a race to raise it, as long as you're consistently finishing well. Driver rating starts at E, the lowest rating, and rises or falls based on your placement in races. Once you join Sport Mode, your profile is given two types of ratings: Driver and Sportsmanship. Sport Mode cannot be played until you view the Racing Etiquette videos.
